YVR offers the shortest flying time between much of North America and Asia as well as being a gateway for Europe!

Visitors to Vancouver Canada may bring in free of duties a maximum of 40 oz. (1.14 litres) of liquor or wine or 24 x 12 oz. (355ml) bottles or cans of beer or ale (8.5 litres), up to 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars or cigarillos and 2.2 lbs. (1 kg.) of tobacco. The legal drinking age in Vancouver, British Columbia is 19 years.

Information and help desks:

Customer service counters can be found on the Departures level of both the domestic and international Terminals. Tourist information counters are located on the Arrivals level in both Terminals.

Green Coat Ambassadors

The green coat ambassadors are a part of the YVR team and they walk around the Vancouver airport to assist people who are lost and need directions. They are volunteers that are here to help you!

Business Facilities:

The business centre is located in the international Terminal on the Arrivals level and offers the following facilities: fax, photocopying, laser printing, cellular phone rental, secretarial services, computer workstations, data ports, laptop recharging points and internet ports.

Disabled Facilities:

The Vancouver International Airport has comprehensive facilities for disabled travelers - catering to people with sight, sound and mobility disabilities. All public areas of the Terminal buildings are all wheelchair accessible. Airline check-in and service counters have a volume controlled amplified handset system to assist people hearing an agent in a noisy environment. Counters are also specially designed with writing surfaces and toe clearances for persons using wheelchairs. There are TTY phones located in all areas and Wayfinding for people with visual impairments or who are deaf or hard of hearing. The Terminal Buildings are equipped with low mounted courtesy phones connected directly to the Operations Desk where staff can identify the users’ location by the phone unit and therefore give users detailed directions or send a green coat ambassador to assist if required. Children's play area:

The Children's play area is located on the second level of Vancouver Airport between the domestic and international departure terminals.

Public Transportation:

An Airporter bus serves downtown Vancouver hotels and the Vancouver cruise ship and bus Terminals, departing every 15 minutes. Scheduled bus services are available to major hotels and destinations in the city centre, South Surrey, Langley, Aldergrove, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Whistler Mountain Village, Vancouver Island, and Seattle. Free shuttles provide services to the long-term parking lot, local Vancouver hotels and other locations around the Vancouver airport. All taxis and Vancouver Limousines are government controlled and must meet airport standards.
